For a long time, I was struggling to understand what the "premises" are, how to come up with them, and how to turn them into "playable" games. I was searching for a clear explanation that would make sense to me, and a process that would reliably generate usable premises. I think I finally figured out an approach that works for me, and I want to share it with you in this post.
These simple games are like little puzzles. Good for novice comedians, improvisers, people interested in improving their creative thinking skills in a simple and fun way, or just looking for an alternative to sudoku =)
In this workshop, our goal is to practice improvising the tools professional improvisers use to make their scenes funny.
I am working on a theory that would explain how comedy works, and turn the process of writing jokes into an understandable, structured process that anyone can learn.
